Kang’ata Should be Honoured for Rescuing BBI- Mutua

Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua says Senator Irungu Kang’ata should be honoured and rewarded for rescuing BBI.

Senator Kang’ata wrote to President Uhuru Kenyatta informing him of BBI unpopularity in Central Kenya. In the six-page letter to the president, he urged the president to form a delegation who would propel the agenda of BBI in the region.

The controversial letter has received various responses from politicians for and against the BBI constitutional referendum. Among them is the Machakos Governor, Dr. Alfred Mutua.

Mutua congratulates Kangata for the letter saying its the best thing to have happened to BBI. He commended him for his courage to voice their opinions.

“What the courageous Senate Majority Chief Whip has done is vocalized the whispers that have been going on due to propaganda by opposers of BBI,” Mutua wrote.

The governor also expressed his pleasure for the 10 Mt Kenya governors who had issued statements following the letter.

To him, that is a good show that will work in favour of the BBI hence its success.

Leave Kang’ata alone-Mutua

Mutua wants the senator understood and pressure taken away from him because of the letter. He urges those supporting BBI to be happy and honour him for the heroic act.

“Instead of condemning and exerting pressure on my friend and fellow youthful leader Senator Irungu Kang’ata, we, who support BBI, should be honouring him,” he said.

The Machakos County Boss also raised some question over the letter. According to him, there should be a communication breakdown in president Uhuru’s government.

He says that having worked closely with former president, Kibaki this might just be a political game, adding that its something he has seen before. With that statement, Mutua insinuates that Uhuru might as well be behind the letter in a bid to “rejig a few things.”

To show his commitment to congratulating Kanga’ata, Mutua offered to reward him with a drink.

“The good Senator Kang’ata’s phone is off. If anyone gets in touch with him, please tell him I want to buy him a drink. He has made me proud.” He penned down.
