I Was Offered Ksh17M to Betray Mudavadi- MP Savula

Lugari Member of Parliament Ayub Savula has admitted that he was offered Ksh17 million to overthrow Musalia Mudavadi as ANC party leader.

The MP revealed this while addressing mourners during the requiem mass of the late Mama Hannah Mudavadi on January 7, 2021.

Savula revealed that he was approached at a time when ANC was experiencing internal party wrangles in 2020 and asked to oust the former deputy prime minister.

“I was burying my father when someone landed in my compound with a chopper with 17 million daring me to go and overthrow Musalia Mudavadi as my Party leader,” Savula narrates.

In response, the MP says he declined the offer owing to the respect he has for the ANC party as well his religious background.

“I said no. I am the son of a pastor, this is the family that raised me,” he added

The incident happened at a time the NASA coalition was experiencing problems that saw even Ford Kenya’s Senator Moses Wetangula fear for his role as the party’s leader with threats from Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyimi.

On June 10, 2020, reports emerged of ANC planning to overthrow its party leader, Hon. Mudavadi.

In his speech, Savula described the ANC Leader’s family as one of his own. He further revealed how the former vice president majorly contributed to his and his friend Godfrey Osotsi’s education.

“I am grateful to the family of the late Moses Mudamba Mudavadi through Mama Hanna Mudavadi. Musalia Mudavadi educated me. He paid my entire school fees when I was a student at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC). He also paid school fees for Honourable Osotsi,” he said.

Additionally, he promised to support Mudavadi’s presidential bid in 2022.
